Three in one Hamburger Mix - Marlys

1/2 cup chopped onions
1 tbsp butter
2 lb. ground beef
2/3 cup catsup
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup chopped celery
2 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp. worcester shire sauce
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp vinegar
1/2 tsp flavor enhancer (monosodium glutamate)
1/4 tsp dry mustard

Sauté onion in butter. Add beef and brown lightly. Drain off excess fat. Add rest of ingredients; simmer covered for 30min. Cool. Makes 4 cups.

Note: Use 1 1/3 cups for Easy Chili (above). Freeze remaining mixture in two separate equal amounts (1 1/3 cups each). Use one amount for Barbecued Hamburgers and the other for Cheese broiled Barbecue. Thaw before using

Easy Chili:
1 1/3 cups Three-in-one Hamburger Mix
1 Can (15 oz) kidney beans, including liquid
1/2 to 1 cup tomato juice (340ml)
2 to 3 tsp. chili powder

Heat hamburger Mix slowly in saucepan. Add remaining ingredients; Heat. 2 generous servings.

Cheese-broiled barbecue
Heat 1 1/3 cups trhee-in-one hamburger mix. Butte split english muffings lightly; toast in oven or under broiler. Top each half with some of beef mixture and a slice of american process cheese. place under broiler until cheese bubbules and is lightly browned. makes enough for 8 english muffin halves.

barbeued hambrugers
Heat 1 1/3 cups three in one hambruger mix. Mix slowly in skillet. Use as fillings for hot buttered hamburger buns. Makes enough for 4 buns.
